DIRECT REPORTS:  Varied Regional Operations and Resource Development staff

JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President of Regional Impact is a strategic and visionary leader responsible for overseeing the impact, fundraising and external affairs of multiple Boys & Girls Clubs sites within designated regions. 

JOB RESPONSBILITIES

  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services that meet the needs of youth across the regional Boys & Girls Club sites

 

  • Provides leadership for the overall operations of designated Branches with the primary concern for safety, programs, compliance and budget 

 

  • Ensures the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, including program objectives, outcome measurements, optimal club capacity, and average daily attendance 

 

  • Assists with managing financial resources, participating in the development and design of branch annual budgets 

 

  • Develops and implements metrics to measure the impact and success of programs, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with organizational goal

 

  • Collaborates with site directors to share best practices, address challenges, and ensure consistency in program delivery

 

  • Leads regional fundraising efforts in partnership with the Resource Development team and local councils, setting ambitious yet achievable goals

 

  • Develops and executes comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government sources

 

  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with major donors and prospects, ensuring ongoing engagement and stewardship

 

  • Serves as the primary representative of the Boys & Girls Club sites in the region, building and maintaining positive relationships with key external stakeholders, including local politicians, city councils, and members of Congress

 

  • Manages partnerships with public municipalities, school districts, collective impact groups and public officials, ensuring that BGCAZ is connected to the (Locations) and other regional youth communities

 

  • Collaborates with team members across the organization to identify and pursue business planning and strategies for the branches 

 

  • Serves as a conduit and advisor to assist BGCAZ’s Vice President of External Affairs and Business Development by leveraging the management of major projects, reducing roadblocks, increasing impact and accelerating progress 

 

  • Takes the lead in renewal opportunities and works toward engaging partners on a deeper level of investment and engagement  

 

  • Advocates for policies and legislation that support the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs and the well-being of youth in the region

 

  • Collaborates with the VP External Affairs and advocacy team to align regional efforts with broader organizational advocacy initiatives

 

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with regional councils, ensuring their active involvement and support in advancing the organization’s mission

 

  • Engages with community leaders, business partners, and other stakeholders to build a network of support and collaboration

 

  • Organizes and participates in regional events, meetings, and conferences to promote the Boys & Girls Clubs and strengthen community ties

 

  • Provides inspirational leadership to regional staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability

 

  • Mentors and develops site directors and other regional staff, promoting professional growth and leadership development

 

  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures and relevant legal and regulatory requirements

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelors degree in nonprofit management, business administration, public policy or related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in nonprofit leadership with a proven track record of successful program delivery and involvement with fundraising strategies
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license     

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, community leaders and political figures
  • Must possess strong strategic planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and engage others

WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING

  • Extensive travel is required between BGCAZ Branches, including overnight travel to regional sites and events 
  • Work is performed in our Program Services Center-Administrative offices and Arizona regional sites
  • Evening and weekend hours are required to accommodate the schedules of donors, community events and other engagements
