REPORTS TO: Vice President of Human Resources


The HR Generalist works alongside the HR team and is responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise. Will assist with providing a wide range of HR administrative and office support. Will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance and managing HRIS systems and reporting, benefits administration, recruitment and cascading best HR practices amongst the organization while facilitating positive relationships with all BGCAZ staff.


  • Processes HR new hires, internal transfers, promotions, terminations, and assists with preparing for bi-weekly New Hire Orientations.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of organizational strategic plan
  • Administers, communicates and develops benefit programs which includes, processing individual enrollments and overseeing annual Open-Enrollment process
  • Manages and oversees employee leave administration (STD, LTD, FMLA, Worker’s Comp, etc.)
  • Manages and oversees all employee unemployment claims, verifications of employment and HR mailbox
  • Reconciles and processes payments and facilitates support audits while working alongside with carrier connections on conflicts/issues that arise
  • Guides and monitors recruitment activities, interview and reference checking activities, resume tracking
  • Oversees pre-employment and post-employment processes which include conducting drug testing, E-Verify process and background investigations 
  • Manages all HR reporting and auditing
  • Assures that employee files are secure and documentation is compliant with current employment practices and legal requirements (I-9 forms, tax information, FCRA requirements)
  • Trains, coaches and supports supervisors and managers in proper and legal application of human resources policies and procedures, as needed
  • Monitors and ensures that data is confirmed and updated between payroll and HRIS system
  • Works alongside the Human Resources Business Partners to ensure that all the HR functions are being handled in a timely manner and provides support, as needed
  • Assist with job description creation as needed
  • Creating, reviewing and monitoring Human Resources reports in ADP to include, attrition, recruitment, benefits, performance appraisals and performance management, etc.
  • Submit ER/EE HSA contributions, ensure all payments are made and are correct
  • Assist with building out platforms for HR or organizational projects such as Rewards/Recognition, Career/Succession Planning, and org-wide surveys. 


  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and minimum 5 years of progressive HR related experience
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Experience managing HRIS system; preferably ADP Workforce Now


  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with principles and practices of Human Resources
  • Ability to manage, investigate and participates in Human Resources processes
  • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and best practices in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of Human Resources management in multiple disciplines to include: benefits, compensation, employment, policy development and performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and support long term organizational strategies
  • Strong administrative, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality in all interactions Organizational wide
  • Travel between Boys & Girls Club of the Valley branches and schools as needed
