Group Internship Manager

Location: PSC East* 

2602 W Baseline Rd #25, Mesa, AZ 85202

*Will also be required to work at off-site event venues. Position also has the ability to work from home at times.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Group Internship Manager provides case management services to students who enroll in the group internship program at event arena. Responsibilities include: to provide guidance, employment and educational support to all interns while working every shift (basketball game or concert) with the interns. Shifts may be during the evening, weekends and/or holidays.   Also assist team with recruitment, pre-screening, onboarding and supervision of teens attending the academy and career internship placement as needed.  Responsible for keeping records and notes of own case load, utilizing Kidtrax system. Keep communication open with interns, supervisor and staff. Develops and maintains community partnerships and supports AZ Youthforce programming including: events and connections with employers and/or schools. Carries a caseload of 20 to 40 students, maintain accurate records and notes for each student. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist interns with development of career/employment plan

- Schedule events, oversee events, verify payroll for group interns

- Promote program within the community (companies, CBO’s and schools)

- Maintain intern files with accurate information

- Maintain intern files with accurate information

- Case manage an active case load of up to 40

- Maintain appropriate case notes and documents in system and hard copy file

- Work every event scheduled by event arena (i.e. games, concerts), including evenings, weekends and holidays

- Assist with other activities such as career fairs/job fairs 

- Assist with interns’ interviews 

- Maintain communication with interns and placement managers 

- Provide interns with community resources as needed

- Outreach and presentations as needed


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

- High school diploma or equivalency

- Minimum 1 year of supervising/working with teens ages 16-19

- Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license


KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS

- Ability to maintain and cultivate excellent community relationships and possess excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to interact effectively and communicate (in writing and orally) with a variety of members, neighborhood groups, agencies, schools, volunteers and teens

- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with and maintain productive and effective working relationships with organization staff and management in accomplishing goals and objectives

- Ability to represent and make presentations to students, clubs, local partner agencies and employers as needed

- Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

- Able to react to change productively, work flexible schedule when needed and handle other essential and marginal functions as assigned

- Familiar with social media platforms

- Plan, organize, implement new ideas


WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING

- Travel between BGCAZ Branches, schools and community sites is required. Must meet the insurance standards of BGC

- Work is performed at Footprint arena, occasionally at the branches, community and office setting

- Evenings, weekend hours and holidays required on an as needed basis
