FLSA STATUS: Exempt | REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Community Engagement & Events |
DIVISION: Resource Development (RD) | DIRECT REPORTS: N/A |
PAY GRADE: S4 | PAY RANGE: $45,279 - $65,655 |
JOB SUMMARY |
The Affinity Group Officer builds giving from the communities people choose to join because of something they share: Club alumni, service clubs like Rotary and Kiwanis, neighborhood associations, faith communities, giving circles, veterans groups, cultural and heritage associations, fraternity and sorority alumni chapters, and running, cycling, car, and fan clubs. Business coalitions and chambers are part of the mix, but the heart of this role is people who gather around a common interest, not a common employer. These groups are full of people who care about their community and want to do something about it together. This role gives them a clear, rewarding way to do it at a Club.
You will find the groups, earn a seat at their tables, bring them inside a Club, and turn that first visit into an annual gift, a sponsored project, a fundraiser in BGCAZ's name, or a volunteer team that keeps coming back. You will own a portfolio of affinity relationships from first meeting to renewal, and you will be the person each group thinks of when it hears "Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley."
You will be part of the Community Engagement and Events team and the larger Resource Development department, working side by side with colleagues in events, grants, corporate giving, and VIP donor stewardship. The role is a strong fit for someone early in a fundraising career who likes being in the room, follows up without being reminded, and wants to grow into a major gifts or community engagement leader. |
JOB RESPONSBILITIES: Build the affinity portfolio (about 40%) |
- Identifies, researches, and prioritizes community and affinity groups across the Valley and BGCAZ's statewide footprint: Club alumni; service clubs (Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Optimist); neighborhood and HOA groups; faith communities; giving circles; veterans, retiree, and parent groups; cultural and heritage associations; Greek-letter alumni chapters; hobby, sports, and fan clubs. Business coalitions, chambers, and professional associations round out the portfolio.
